Mont Blanc Itinerary

Season; June and September

10 day program.

  • Day one. Arrive at Gite Mont Joly. Meet the Guides in the evening to discuss the program and check equipment.

  • Day two. Ecole de Glace on the Mer de Glace (Chamonix). The day will focus on the use of axe and crampons, moving with coils in glacial terrain, crevasse rescue and acclimatisation.

  • Day three. Ascent to the Refuge des Conscrists above Les Contamines.

  • Day four. The traverse of the Domes de Miage (3673m). A great opportunity to practice the skills learnt on day 1 as well as completing a classic alpine route. Other options are Mont Tondu (3196m) or the Aiguille de la Berangere (3425m).

  • Day five. Following a mornings multi pitch rock climbing at La Duchere we will travel to the Gran Paradiso National park and ascend to the Refuge Vittorio Emanuele.

  • Day six. The ascent of the Gran Paradiso (4061m) before returning to Saint Gervais.

  • Day seven. We use the Telepherique de Bellevue before walking to the Refuge de Tete Rouuse.

  • Day eight. The ascent of Mont Blanc (4810m) before returning to the Refuge Gouter.

  • Day nine. From the Refuge Gouter we will descend to the Refuge Tete Rousse early in the morning before returning to the valley.

  • Day ten. Depart Mont Joly.

  • Valley accommodation.

  • Personal lunches and drinks.

  • Insurance (essential).

Cost includes :

  • Personal hut fees on a half board basis.

  • All transport costs.

  • Guides hut fees, lunches and uplift.

Terms and Conditions

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 50% non-refundable deposit (your chosen Guide will provide details of how this is to be paid). Cancellation will result in loss of deposit.

The course balance is due 14 days before the commencement of the course.

Appropriate insurance (which covers: rescue; medical expenses; repatriation; and the chosen activity) must be carried at all times when on crags or in the mountains.

Important information on medical conditions must be provided.

When possible, we will aim to complete the advertised itinerary or the itinerary agreed between you and the Guide. However, the itinerary may change due to weather conditions, conditions on the mountain or clients' capabilities.

The Guide's decision on objectives is final.
